Imports from July 2020
International Merchandise Trade contains commodity information by tonnes and value, port of departure, port of arrival, country of origin and destination, and mode of transport. The data from July 2020 is presented monthly. The ABS can make revisions to the monthly data for the previous six months.
The data is not released publicly by the ABS on their website, and provides an important insight into commodity level data at a critical point in the supply chain.
The data can be downloaded as comma delimited files (CSV). The files can be large - in the case of imports, over 1GB and 5 million records. Excel will be unable to display all the records in the Imports and Exports files. Software like Power BI, Tableau, Python or R will be needed to work with these very large files.
Please note: Only a sample of the dataset (1000 records) is available below for previewing purposes or access via web API. The URL above will allow download of the full dataset as a zip file.
