Building Approvals, Australia

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) publishes the number of dwelling units approved and value of buildings approved, updated monthly. The publication collates data relating to approvals for constructions of new buildings, alterations to existing buildings, non-structural renovation and full demolitions of existing dwellings. This data is updated monthly. Users can access data on a range of different geographic boundaries, including States and Territories, Greater Capital City Statistical Areas (GCCSA), Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4) and Local Government Areas. Some previous data in this series is also available at the Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2).
